Mobilising the energy saving potential in local authorities - How to put energy efficiency services into practice20th June 2007 - BrusselsA large cost effective potential for energy savings in public buildings and public lighting could be easily achievable, if proper policies were implemented. In addition to a strong political will and the availability of the personal means it is necessary to improve within the local authorities the energy management and study the possibilities to use energy efficiency services for mobilising the identified saving potentials. An important aspect for municipalities is the possible financing schemes, which do not impact the public investment budget.This seminar underlines the positive framework conditions and presents concrete examples to be implemented by local authorities setting the accent on energy efficiency services.
